Hi all,
Thanks for taking the time to look at this post.
I am a recent graduate product designer and have also got back into MTBing over the last year - loving it!!
Just as a little project on the side, i would like to have a go at designing/engineering some new bike gear/accessories.
I would like to know if anyone has any ideas of possible products that are missing i the market or tweaks to existing parts that you have come across and thought, that would be good if.....
I know all innovation is done by the leading development brands, this is only really to occupy my evenings, but any thoughts on possible product ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

Do you not have any ideas of your own? If I came up with a good product I wouldn't share it with a stranger on the Internet.0

its a fair comment mcnultycop, as this is only a little project for me it wont go anywhere anyway, so people should not be worries about sahring good ideas so much. I was only hoping to draw on riders with more experience than i have, and there are many here!0

it may not greatly have a point to many, but it is just a chance for me to develope my skills in design and under stand better the components that make up the sport i am growing to love. That is all, i was only interested to see if any one had any ideas of cool or different items that dont exist.0

Why?
well we all know the ideal size of a mtb greatly differs from the size of the ideal road bike for any one height. so if you decided to go out on a xc ride you could mke the bike around 18inch for a 5ft 10 rider then on the same day for the ride on the road you could increase the size to 20 to 22 inch as the size guide states for 5ft 10..... like i have bruaght a second hand bike with a frame size of 22inch it a mtb i got it because the forks were worth what i paid, it the right size for a road bike but if i decide to take it xc it will be 3 to 4 inches to big now if i could change that it would be greatI am sorry if I talk to much s@#t it goes with the name.............0 -
So there you have it - try and design the most useless bike ever with 590.5mm rims, CVT and an adjustable frame with built in bacon maker.I don't do smileys.
