Hi all
Looking for some nice lightweight flat pedals for my Whippet. Any suggestions?
Have considered some plastic ones as I don't want to spend a fortune as they are only a stop gap until I can afford some clipless pedals and shoes (spent a fortune on the build in the last couple of days and totally forgot to budget for pedals and shoes!!)
Cheers
James

Or Superstar Nanos. But £10 cheaper from here:

Although Wellgo ones are probably cheaper...

+1 wellgo, ive had a set 18 months, done nothing to them and still run as smooth as when i got them. they're a bit tatty, but thats my fault for getting white ones.

    +1 for Nanos

Maybe not light, but they take a beating (i smashed my right hand one off a rock at Antur last Friday. Pedal is fine, just needs a new axle)

What MTB has a feature on pedals this month

    How long's the stop gap?
These are good value. Not as nice (or big) as the MG1 or Nano, but if they only have to last until next payday they'll do the job. I've had a few sets and have never been disappointed for the money .

The pedals on Carbon Cycles' site look the same but measure up smaller unless someone didn't check the dimensions. To be fair, I have the Mag Nonos and after 3 years, they feel great with my size 11's.

I've had both Superstar Nano and the Carbon cycles version, I couldn't tell any difference at all in use. Get which ever are cheapest at the time.

Thanks. Looks like they just printed 95x95 incorrectly. I might get some in that case. Was the paint any good/worse than on the Superstar pedals?

only paint on nano's is white ones which will rub off after time

rest are anodized i believe and far better finish than paint

Out of curiosity do you have a source for that?

The advertised weights seem to be about the same. But then again I may be getting that wrong...

Nukeproof electron, 340 odd grams, 31 quid, great pedals.

    MG1's - 380g about £30 on Ebay.
Superstar - 446g about £38, Unless you pay another £40 for titanium axles, then 375g

The SS mag pedals are a bit lighter, but twice the price, triple with titanium axles.
So for reasonable price and lightweight, the Wellgos win. And they are tough.

  • I got a pair of dmr v8 from leisure lakes for £25, super grippy but they do make you bleed if you crash with them.

DMR V8's are expensive, heavy, small and made by Wellgo. The Wellgo 'copies' are half the price.
