Sorry, another tyre thread...
I'm currently running a Minion DHf 2.35 on the front and a High Roller-2 2.4 (don't ask, long boring story) on the back, but I'd like something less draggy. Any suggestions? Oh I ride in the Peak District most of the time.

2.2 cross mark0 -
A DHF works well with an Ardent on the back. Minions are on the small side and Ardents are on the large side you won't need to go bigger than 2.25. In terms of width a 2.25 Ardent is as big as a 2.5 Minion but the Ardent has a noticeably lower profile.
Advantage is pretty much the same tyre as an Ardent - identical carcass but with shallow Minion-esque shoulder blocks and a blocky centre tread. Slightly draggier than an Ardent but slightly grippier in loose, rubbly stuff.0 -

Just moved to this setup and am well impressed. The 2.25 Ardent definitely looks bigger than the 2.35 Minion on the front. Rode the trails around Ladybower on Sunday and it felt spot on for that type of riding.0 -
I'm about to try the same setup of Ardent rear, minion front, I've heard good things about it.
used an Ardent on the front before, its a good tyre, relatively fast rolling good cornering.
Double Minion dhf is meant to be a good combo for more aggressive riding but I wouldn't fancy it on longer rides with climbing.0 -
Ended up going with an Ardent 2.25, seems fast in comparison. Nice one.0
