What is Millar's role these days? He's done very little racing this year , did he get dropped from the ttt?

He doesn't seem strong enough to ride on the front. Is he building up for the Tour to try to win a flat stage between the mountains?

    Road captain in GTs?

He got taken down in the crash in the final kms of Stage 1 and got banged about, so wasnt up to much for the TTTand was dropped earlyish.

Garmin's most experienced road captain - invaluable in GTs. And usually an important part of the TTT machine when not nursing bodily damage.

Has been ill/injured a lot in the early part of the season, plus he's just become a dad again.

Role is now road captain, TTT pilot and occasional breakaway specialist.

I wondered if he was going to retire soon, but in an interview last year he said he wanted to go on for a few more years yet.
