To paraphrase 'Flower of Scotland', we'll never see his like again. I can't see anyone being in control (and that is what it is - control) of one club for so long.

Absolute United legend. Absolute football legend, never mind just United.

I suspect ALIHISGREAT and I will be in mourning for a few days! Glad I'm going to OT on sunday, to see his last game and say farewell, and most of all thank you for the great times.

Shares in Man United have fallen following today's announcement, but the Stock Exchange have agreed to stay open an extra 5 minutes.

he has done a great job. glad to see him go being a scouser and i hope that whoever gets the job (Moyes methinks), give the man time and dont try and compare him to SAF.

Reading some of the posts and listening to people phoning in to radio stations yesterday, one would think he had died.
    He has merely retired.

I'll wager £1,000 that this will not happen.
