Hi, i bought an Alex DH22 rear wheel, here is the link for it.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ALEX-DH-26-DI ... 4d0c00c94f
And i was going to buy the front wheel to get the complete wheelset, it was exactly the same as this but just the front wheel. Unfortunately it is no longer on eBay!!! Must have been sold out...bugger. So ive had a look at 2 other front wheels that are in my budget of £35, and i dont know what to go for out of the two.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RALEIGH-26-FR ... 4d07e21cdc This one might go pretty soon as there is only one left.
What would be the best from the two to go for?
Would it be likely for the front DH22 wheel to come back into stock?
Is there anything better for £35
The wheels are for a jump bike, but i wont be going too mental on it. Will be doing some MTBing on it aswell. These wheels will most likely be "starter" wheels until i can upgrade in the future.
The tyres i intend to get for the wheels are Halo Twin Rails which are 2.2, but that isnt a must, but my favoured option at the moment.
Thanks for your help in advance

That second one, i have one of those as a cheapy replacement on the hack commuter. Heavy and flexy and no idea about the strength as only been used properly on the road.0

Thanks mate. Its going to a budget build unfortunately...hence the budget for the wheel. So ill make do with the flexyness and weight. How can you tell if its flexy?
Would you know if the rear wheel i linked is any good?0 -
I've no idea mate. Never seen one before.
RE flex, you can just tell if it's flexing. You feel it.0 -

Damn, ive never felt flex before. Maybe i have but havent realised.
Thanks.0 -
IMO it feels a bit like having a puncture when you corner hard - you feel the wheels 'give' a little. I notice it a bit on my race wheels, particularly now I'm about 5kg heavier :oops:0

Ahh, i know that puncture feeling, but i am yet to feel it with the wheels. Possibly since ive only just started offroading. It used to just be commuting.
As long as most of that 5kg is muscle then its good!0 -
I wish it was!0

So would you recommend that same wheel that bennett did?0 -
No real experience of any of them, so couldn't say. They're likely to all be much of a muchness. I'd be tempted to have a look at Merlin, see if they've got any bargains, may get yourself something a bit better.0

I literally just took delivery of my rear wheel. It looks real nice, and its not that heavy for a double walled rim. The bearings are really really smooth too...but thats because its brand new obivously. LOL
Just had a look at Merlins, and they are selling that exact same wheel that bennett recommended but for a few quid more...lol

I can understand why they are more expensive to make0 -
two thinner wallsI rode what you dug last summer0

The can be made stiffer with thinner walls because of the box section. Think about a frame - tubes are stiffer than a solid bit of rod of the same weight.I don't do smileys.

Ohhh, yeah that does make sense now when you talk about the box section. Thanks for that!0
