After a long bike ride yesterday, I've noticed a split in my rear tyre and just wondering what could have caused it.

its on the gears side, I've not ridden by sharp rocks or anything like that.

Its about 2 inch long and looks more like the wheel rim has rubbbed the tyre and split it

I would have thought if the tyre is not seated on the rim properly the split would have been much worse and longer ?

any thoughts ?

I will add a picture later

This is the tyre damage, cant have been a stone or rock thats done this ?

I cant work out how its been done, unless the tyre wasnt on the rim properly but i checked this when i last inflated the tyre.

Looks like the tyre has just failed.

yeah which is a shame really as its a good tyre with still plenty of life left on the tread.

I hope it was just a faulty one as i've bought the same replacement, specialized ground control in s-works compound.
