Hi all I'm new here so please be gentle ha ha
I've just bought a bike to get fit on and was wondering if I've paid the right price
The bike is a custom build based on a Giant XTC carbon frame with XTR running gear, DT Swiss hubs and rims with avid elixir 5 disc brakes
It's got Rockshox reba rl on the front and ritchey carbon riser bars
It's in really good condition and is a real flying machine and I love getting out on it
I believe the XTR crank and bottom bracket are M970 as is the front mech
The rear mech and shifters are M980 or maybe newer ???
I paid £1,350 don't know if it was OTT ??
Just after your opinions being seasoned mountain bikers
Many thanks, Bry

Doesn't matter how much it costs IMO, if you actually ride it and enjoy it!

Sounds a good price for a Giant carbon frame and XTR running gear. Brakes and fork could be better, but nothing wrong with them.

  • I think the frame is 2009 the rear mech and shifters are brand new the other XTR bits are '09 too
Shockers are 2011 the carbon bars are brand new and the wheels are 2011
Thanks for the advice mate and like the first reply said as long as its ridden who cares what the price was
I love it and its coming in handy to lose a bit of weight and get fit

Loving it is good, but you'd loose more weight and get fitter quicker if you were lugging 20Kg of solid steel bar framed BSO over a mountain.....not that you'd have an incentive for doing it twice!
Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    Sounds a bargain frankly.
