a while ago i had to hacksaw my carbon seat stem from my alu frame, so i replaced it with an alu one and have no trouble getting it out of the frame now. but now i have had to put a spare carbon seat post in as my alloy one has a crack down it and the seat swivels round, the carbon one is already tight to fit so looks like i need an alu one again, anyonelse had this problem.?

Do you fit the seatpost with grease? Grease can cause carbon seatposts to expand and get stuck in frames. Specific carbon assembly compounds are your safest bet.

contact between carbon fibre and aluminium can cause galvanic corrosion if moisture gets in, the corrosion products take up more volume than the original metal resulting in parts seizing solid, so it's always wise to use assembly paste when fitting

give the seat tube a *really* good clean, if posts have been stuck before it may have some corrosion or other crud in there

once clean, apply a thin layer of assembly paste on the full length of post that will be inserted (most will squish out at the top of the seat tube)

if the post is a tight fit, the pink tacx paste will be better than a more gritty one like finish line's
