Don't have to worry about that sea air rusting the frame either!
  • Very nice.

Nice! Do you mind me asking how much you got the frame for?

Very nice, classy in a subtle way...how do you find the Shamal wheels? I'm considering a pair and would be interested in some user feedback.

Somewhere between £698 and £700. Keep an eye out in their clearance section, there are a few on there at the moment...

Now...you have exposed me for what I am with that question!

My friends who know alot more about wheels that I do suggest that you only get marginal gains once you go above Zondas, however...

    1. I wanted a wheel with aero spokes, which the Zonda does not have, so I was looking for some Eurus's.
    2. A pair of Shamals came up in the 'for sale' section here, so I bought them for the price of some Zondas.

As far as I can tell, Shamals are Eurus's with ceramic bearings. All I can say is that they are light, stiff, expensive if you need a replacement spoke (£12ish), and that all the bits you need to service the bearings are available to buy, so quite servicable.

I am no expert, just a weekend warrior, and cannot offer any more than that I am afraid.

Here are some of the details

Campagnolo Record Carbon Compact 10 Speed Chainset. Beautiful weave to the carbon, and goes so well with the bare metal rings. A design classic! Both together look great against the titanium frame. Got this on Ebay from California

Campagnolo Chorus Rear Mech. Bought this from the BR classified, and added Hope jockey wheels. An extra tooth compared to the Campag wheels, but just enough clearance for the chain to pass the tab by the bottom wheel.

OCD...? I'll give you OCD! This was about my fifth try at filling the 35mm gap between the headset and the stem. Went for a smoked polycarbonate/carbon mix. Think it looks ok myself.
