New bike front mech ultegra stopped shifting

Not sure why. I tried to adjust the upper limit. But now won't shift at all. I have clearance on the adjust screws. Seems to move on the springs but the levers don't seem to be working the cable if that makes sense. Is it best to just run it down the lbs?

A front derailleur is a really simple thing and it would be useful to learn how to adjust it. If it's a new bike then it probably just needed a couple of turns on the barrel adjuster to tune the shifting - as things bed in a little adjustment is often needed.
First things first: YOU NEVER HAVE TO ADJUST THE LIMIT SCREWS ONCE THEY HAVE BEEN SET.
But, you've moved them now so have to start at the beginning.
1. Change the shifter so it's in the lowest position (click the paddle a few times to make sure).
2. Check the cable under the downtube - should be slack. If its not undo the Allen bolt so it's disconnected.
3. Put the chain on the biggest sprocket at the back.
4. Adjust the limit screw so that the chain doesn't rub the cage in this position.
(If you disconnected the cable connect it again now - pull it tight and tighten the bolt).
5. Put the chain on the smallest cog at the back.
6. Don't use the shifter but pull the cable on the downtube by hand to change into the big ring. Pull it as far as it can go.
7. Adjust the limit screw so the chain doesn't rub in this position.
8. Use the shifter to now change to the big ring. If it doesn't make it then turn the barrel adjuster until it does. It's just a case of balancing the tension for up and down changes - make small adjustments at a time.
Parktool.com is a great resource too - has a description with pictures.I'm left handed, if that matters.0 -
Front shifter seized up and return to Crc for a refund, they have been a little slow in dealing with emails but have agreed to sort out in the end. 2 weeks without the new bike now rhough12 year old claud butler MTB

you could just ride it without the front mech for now, just put the chain manually on whichever chainring you desire...0
