Not sure why Kelly was with him. Wearing an ES kit. Now commentating on the Giro.

Perhaps doing some work for a video of the Tour? Kelly did one for Flanders/P-R for ES.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

Got to say that Carlton Kirby in the middle there doesn't look anything like I expected...

Seems like a few pros were doing the recon this week.

Laurens ten Dam was there Thursday and Alpe d'Huez on Friday

Bloody hell Kirby's a proper bogan. Looks like he'll pop out a bottle opening thong at any moment.

What are the temperatures like at the summit around now? Could be the perfect time of the year for a bash at the Galariens du Mont Ventoux challenge!

It'll be different day by day. I've skied higher than 1,900m in early April when it's hotter than 20C, also skied the same time of year and it's been -10C.

As long as it's dry you should be ok. the amount of snow lying about makes no difference (apart from melt water on the road).

That's not the summit, it's the Tom Simpson memorial which is a little bit further down

Tch...look at all the rubbish Porte left lying around Simpson's memorial. No class, these Sky riders. Contador would've swept up.

Erm, just a thought on that photo of Frank Schleck. He's wearing Radioshack kit. I thought he was serving a doping ban. Don't teams often fire riders if they are banned for doping and then rehire them once their ban is complete? I seem to remember photos of Contador riding around in plane kit whilst he was banned.

Frankie could have bought replica kit (have this vision of him on ebay), non? Against the spirit, admittedly.

BUT very oddly he's still listed as part of the team on the website...which I'm sure is not right as against the rules...

EDIT: Schleck the Elder clearly didnt get booted after all - probably used the decision from the Lux AD agency he hadnt taken the dodgy substance intentionally

He should have had some copy gear made up with a little tweaking to the branding - Radioschleck :)

That's it, I'm going with the idea that he bought the kit from Pro Bike Kit. He's not gonna be happy, those shorts are ruined! :D

I'm sure the bag of free dried mango cheered him up though :)
