Stem sizing

Hi Guys
How do i find out the stem size on my Giant Escape 2, I want to put a shorter one with a higher angle (bad back !).

    Measure it centre to centre. Simple.

    Ta, is that the bar size or the fork, what do i need to swap stems

    That's the diameter of most bars now. You should just be able to get a new stem and swap it over.

    A shorter and lower stem may not actually solve your problem. After suffering back and knee problems, I went for a proper fitting and ended up with the bars lower (just one 5mm spacer on the stem now) and a longer stem, and the seat higher and further back. No more back problems and I can spend all day in the drops.
    I ride a bike. Doesn't make me green or a tree hugger. I drive a car too.
