When I bought my bike (2nd hand) it has a lizard skins chainstay guard on, is my frame likely to get damaged if my chain tension is ok, it's looking a bit tired and I want to take it off but don't want to damage my frame... Anyone use them?

buy a new piece and swap it over, then you won't have to worry about damage. Any brand of pre cut guard, or helicopter tape from the Bay
my isetta is a 300cc bike
  • make sure chain-length is spot on and you'll be fine. Good tip, about the copter tape though.

On a road bike you should be fine but as @team47b suggests you can get clear heli tape to cover it I have some on road bikes and ones on you can't tell.
Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.

My chain's the right length but still occasionally clatters the chainstay if I find myself freewheeling over particularly rough stuff. It's a triple which might make a difference.
