  • The quality on the cycling shorts this year are very poor got 10miles down the road and noticed the stitching was coming away by the time i was at home a small hole had appeared plus very thin material can see your skin through them in the sun guys you know what i mean
last year clothing 7/10 this year you really do get what you pay for 0/10
got one of them 15quid jackets as well seemed ok until closer inspection stiching poor in places can see myself using this more as a gilet as i don't think zip off arms will last

My Mrs has been down today and picked up some bits as she is starting to get into the sport which has probably saved me a few quid that I can then spend on something much sexier.
You are sooooooo going to pay for that if she read this.

Went in this morning and bought 3 of the £7.99 jerseys for my commute. Can't complain at the price for what they are going to be used for.

    Just had an odd experience.

hoards of middle aged men jamming everything they could see into baskets! Felt like i was in a George A. Romero movie

Had to laugh after similar sight in mine at 8 yesterday morning
It would have been worse for you in my Aldi as they were older guys with a few middle-aged thrown in for good measure..........me being one of them  .

I was not shoving stuff in a basket though but did have to go back and get one as I got a couple of bits for daughter and glasses for hols.

Maybe they should play this over the sound system next time they have a cycle sale :D

Nipped into Aldi this morning to have a look at the Cycle sale i'd heard so much about and was confronted by hoards of middle aged men jamming everything they could see into baskets! Felt like i was in a George A. Romero movie

Most of the stuff looked pretty crap to be honest, which is fair enough when you consider the price but geez, these guys where going mad for it!

I love a good deal, but i felt i'd be throwing money away buying any of it.

    am i missing something?

I consider myself to be middle age and a regular shopper of Aldi and I did not make a bee line to the sales yesterday. I saw a number of people in the evening and they were a mixed group, not just old men, some women too, not just old women at that. But I have to agree that some of stuff did look cheap, some articles such as the socks did look good enough for me. Yet there wasn't much there for me to comment on, it seems much of it had gone during the day. I have bought stuff from Aldi over the years of good quality and cheap at the same time and that isn't seen very often in this very expensive sport that seems to rip you off at every turn - thank god for Aldi and Lidl, at least some of us can wear something decent and not pay hundreds for the privilege. The long and short of it - you don't have to buy it if you don't like it.

By the triban I do like what you have done with the T5 you should pop over to the Triban Owners Club and share your thoughts with the rest of the gang.

I think the older people were there at 8 because they were able to be as younger ones were possibly less flexible with their work.

Aldi is what it is. One thing though, why do people compare it to things costing 'hundreds of pounds'?
The things people should be buying instead of Aldi stuff are more likely 2 or 3 times the cost, not 10-20
