Recommend Some Baggies

Recently returned to mountain biking (after a hiatus of a few years), and got myself a brand new 29er HT. I've got a pair of 3/4 length humvees that I use on the commute, but I'm looking for something a bit shorter that won't foul my pads as badly, and also allow a bit of sunshine to the old legs, now that we're starting to see it again. My general requirements:
- Liners are not necessary. I've been riding on the road for the last few years and so have an abundance of bib shorts.
- Baggy enough to fit over pads (Fox Launch Pro) easily.
- Belt loops if possible, as I prefer to order a size up sometimes.
- I'd like a bit of colour in my life... Seems to me that there are a wealth of black, grey and khaki shorts out there. I'd like something with a bit of colour, without drawing too much attention to myself (i.e. no fluoro yellow until I have the skills to back it up). Not keen on camo prints either.
- The cheaper the better, obviously. Not scared of paying a bit extra for something that's going to last, but don't have unlimited finances. Under £60 would be good, and anything cheaper would be ideal. Will listen to all reasonable suggestions, however.
Cheers in advance!

I'm a big fan of the Royal 247. They fit me very well, length is good, go over pads fine yet still aren't hideously baggy. Only thing they don't give you is colour!!

I've been wearing a pair of Fox Sergeant's the last couple of seasons and they have lasted well but the zip on the one zip pocket has no gone and they're looking decidedly tatty so about to pull the trigger on a pair of blue Fox Ranger Cargo
I was also wearing a pair of Specialized Enduro last season but not impressed with them. Main popper button has gone already and they look pretty scuffed up - they were about €90 too"Why have that extra tooth if you're not using it?" - Brian Lopes

These are great shorts for the summer but you have to buy a liner..if you're Bi they might be too big. http://www.cyclesurgery.com/mavic-strat ... sting=true
I have a pair of the Sergeants but found the crotch was too low and kept hooking onto my saddle, but I guess that's down to body shape.I'm over 6' and have quite a large head.0 -
Just to be clear, I have nothing against having a liner, it's just that I don't need one if it's not an option... Bigger sizes are fine, just so long as they don't hang too low, as you say.
Decent price on those Mavics though... Worth a punt maybe...Twitter: @FunkyMrMagic0 -
They get a good review on bikeradar. Deffo worth a look if they fit. But they are light weight and vented.I'm over 6' and have quite a large head.0
