New to road biking!

Hi all i am new to road biking and would really like to get into it, for fitness and just for great fun!

I am 6ft6 and 100 kilos and i was wondering what bike would suit me best, as i said i am a beginner but i would like to progress to big rides at the weekends and even biking holidays abroad.

My budget for this is anything up to £1000.

Hi Angus - I'm 6ft 5 and ride a Trek madone 63cm. The madone is out your price range but the aluminium framed treks (like the 1.1) are really good. my 6.ft 4 son has one. Nice ride.
