Advert servers slowing down the site

Further to another post in which it says the issues are resolved.

I'm finding that the adservers being used on the site are massively delaying page load times, particularly on the forum.

In particular, the doubleclick and undertone and cdn servers (I think the latter is for image hosting?) are taking a while to load, so the page hangs in the meantime.

I understand adverts are needed, fine, but the adservers are very slow and this is slowing down the entire site.

We've got people looking into this issue now. Can you recall which ad ended up being served? And could you tell us what device and browser you were using?

delivery.switchads.platform.com is giving me a lot of delays; am using my desktop(win7) and Google Chrome. and the problem is alive and kicking today alright....

it's just as bad with Firefox 20.0.1 also. PLEASE get something done...

i see that the cyclingnews.com website suffers from the same problem. I make a point at ignoring every advert now on principle! Utterly ludicrous.

and seems to plenty of floating spinning mini windows, requesting surveys and all sorts of rubbish.
