Not really naked girls, but something to do with bike maintenance (which is pretty much the same). went to Halfords to get some degreaser and the like. Ended up coming away with 3 tins of GT85 (1 for £4.99 or 3 for £4.98, go figure), just wondering because it says it lubes the chain as well, will this be enough or should i lube the chain too?

it's all a bit of all the gear no idea at the moment.

I knew there'd be no naked girls...... But I still clicked on it. I'm disappointed in myself.... and you!

  • Don't put that on your chain. You CAN if you want, but you will need to reapply constantly; spraying it on before every ride is an irresponsible waste. Better to use a thicker wet lube. (preferably environmentally friendly)
  • What else do you recommend Simon? I usually just scrub the chain with a bit of hot water and a some degreaser then apply some muc-off wet lube.

Sorry Sean, I'm disappointed in myself too!

Are the girls going to be wrestling in the grease? This thread is very disappointing so far.
  • Well I got 3 tins of GT85, just need to recruit some girls now!

Someone is selling a GF for 300 quid on the forums, could be a start.

I'm in. Maybe we could get a discount if we do not need the clothes!
Not sure she will be as easy to hide from the Mrs as a set of wheels but I like a challenge :-)

You owe me some naked girls.

GT85 is the most over-rated bike product going.

I prefer Green Oil; it's environmentally friendly but it also works really well, so win-win. Not tried the Muc Off, but I'm sure it works - there's only so far you can go wrong. I degrease my chain much like that too, using Green Oil degreaser.

Why don't you post in the workshop section with an appropriate title?

Besides, this question has been done to death, a simple search would have revealed plenty of threads on the subject

In the time it took you to type a moan, you could have answered the OP's question. Cut a newbie some slack.

Welcome to the forum Chris :D

Welcome to the forum Chris :D

Did not sound like a moan to me, sounded like helpful advice.

Think the OP got off lightly. His opening title and sentence do not make any sense at all but no one has really had a go at him.
On another day I could have seen him getting roasted on here.

Look what happened to cannondaleboss

Is it bad that I thought Grand Fondo when I read this
    Yellow is the new Black.
  • I posted in this section as it was a beginners question so thought it was best for the beginners part of the forum. Apologies if I upset anyone with some light-hearted fun at the beginning.
