Nightrider Paris 2013

Hello chaps

New on here; long-time reader, first-time poster :)

I signed up to the Paris Nightrider today, to take place in September.

As is the norm with me, I have pulled the trigger before thinking, in that I've booked it without really thinking about the logistics of it.

I'm sure I'll be fine but I'm just interested to garner opinion as to how people are approaching it.

On one hand, I could get the Eurostar with my bike and rock up just before it starts, ride the event and get the train home. Two problems with this - there is a place you can dump your stuff but it's not secure. And I'd like to take time to appreciate Paris and do the whole day trip/tourist thing without nackering myself out before the ride.

On the other hand, I could do it properly and book a hotel. However, this would involve booking time off work and of course, cost.

So... by and large, what are people doing?

My first event was Nightrider London 2011 and from a ride perspective it was physically the most difficult thing I have ever done.

I would say get an overnight stay in Paris and enjoy the city.

I loved the sight of the sun rising over Canary Wharf. I would love to do the Paris version at some point but for me fundraising is the main problem. Add to that the cost of Hotels and travel and it gets pricey.

    Most importantly enjoy it.

    First time poster as well.

I am in the process of signing up for the event as well. I live in Portugal. Flying in on Saturday, do the event, fly back on Sunday. Work (I teach youngsters), on Monday morning. Friends and colleagues probably think I'm mad, they could have a point!
