Still looking around for my first real mountain bike , as previous thread was looking at RR 8.1 or the cubes but come across what looks like great deals on the above two. Any good for beginners / newbies or over the top ?
Any one of the better than the other or do I take it they are both superb ?
The interest free credit is appealing rather than paying the £550 out for the RR

Any views / pointers

Thanks
Gary

I have got the standard aluminium Giant XTC. It's a great ride if you want to cover distance quickly. It is a bit twitchy though due to it's fast steering and the riding position may be a bit stretched out for some people.
It is great value at under a grand though.
