New bikes better value?

I've just been sniffing round various websites looking at full suss 29ers and it seems that bikes have become much better value than a couple of years ago, better spec, Fox forks etc for the same cash. Sniffing about a bit more now if anyone would like a 06 22" Kona Dawg deluxe

No they haven't, they've become more expensive, with worse spec, on average.
Why does Fox forks make something good?

I take it that a Fox fork equipped bike is better specced than a Suntour or Rockshox bike. It seemed that the price about 4 years ago rocketed but now you can get a good spec for £2k which is only £300 more than what the rrp for my dawg was 6 years ago

I ask again. Why is Fox better than RS? Both make some excellent forks and some rubbish ones.

The days of each new bike being better than the last ended about 3 years ago, now normal inflation is taking over.

Kona's are massively overpriced in my opinion.
