Powerlinks compatibility

Hopefully a dead quick yes/no kind of thread:

I've just bought some SRAM powerlock chain links, are they compatible with any 10 speed chain? They say SRAM only on the packet but I fail to see how they won't work on other chains, mine's either Shimano or KMC chain, I forget which :oops:

    yes they are 10spd only and one use only.

    they are not power links they are as you say power locks.

    so you may want to send them back and get some reusable KMC links (again check as they do both reusable and one time versions).

    I don't mind them being 1 time use but will they work on Shimano/KMC?

    To clarify the Powerlocks will work on Shimano and KMC, but you'd be better off using the KMC 'powerlink' that comes on a KMC chain!
    Currently riding a Whyte T130C, X0 drivetrain, Magura Trail brakes converted to mixed wheel size (homebuilt wheels) with 140mm Fox 34 Rhythm and RP23 suspension. 12.2Kg.

    Thanks, that's what I wanted to know :) I'll order some KMC ones but know I can use one of these if I have to.
