Cycle2Work Bike choice help...

Hello everyone
I'm new to the world of forums and this is my first post here
So basically I've decided to take advantage of the Cycle2Work scheme and use it to get myself a road bike, but I'm torn between the Specialized Allez Elite & Giants Defy 1... Any facts and opinions on both will be most welcome. I'm not sure whether to get a 58cm or 60cm frame!? I'm 6ft 1... 6ft 2ish. I used to cycle a lot during my later teens/early 20's, so riding a bike is not totally alien to me.
Many thanks
Elliot

Go for the bike that makes you smile the most, the one you like. Go to the bike shops and use their expert advice on the size. They should have a turbo trainer in store so that you can sit on them and pedal for 20 minutes to see which fits you. Specialised do test bikes that you can use for a day to ride, the Giant dealer might do something similar if you ask for a test ride.
If you are buying on-line then make sure they have a good returns/exchange policy. Wiggle for example offer a 30 day trial period where you can return the bike if you chose the wrong size.Summer - Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 9.0 Team

I still have my Specialized Allez, I'm 6ft and have a 56cm frame. 60cm will surely be too big.Trainer Road Blog: https://hitthesweetspot.home.blog/
