Anyone doing it this Sunday for the British Heart Foundation
I've managed to miss the registration day, so may turn up on the day, although I'll probably cycle to the start.

Fraid not - am in Dorking for the wiggle one. Got a request for help/volunteer call though (I've run the mechanic support for london-paris for them before), so if anyone is up for lending a hand and is in the area drop me a note and I'll pass your contacts on.What do you mean you think 64cm is a big frame?0

Weather was blue skies but chilly when I set out and the 23 miles to Kempton park racecourse just dropped away.
Going through the car park the atmosphere seemed to be good with lots of people there for the ride, when bang I'm taken out by a car pulling out in front of me and that's it for my ride.
Multiple cuts on my leg, courtesy of the chain ring; 2 of which needed 4 stitches each and bruising / road rash over the left side of my body.....might be off the bike for a few days.0 -
Wait? What? You got knocked off your bike at a cycle event???

When asked for his details, the driver stated, "It's a private car park so it doesn't matter"0 -

My word. Did you get them in the end or did he just leave? Hope you're not too badly damaged.- Genesis Croix de Fer

He had driven off but I had seen where he'd gone and traipsed across the car park to have a word.
Bike appears to have a bent chain set, bent handlebars, will probably look to replace the carbon forks but the frame appears ok0 -
What a knob. Hope you don't have to pay.- Genesis Croix de Fer

You should have d locked his panels and said "It's a private car park so it doesn't matter"........

1st day back on the bike and it was meant to be a direct A - B which is 7 miles..... 13.5 miles later turn up at work.
Cycling appeared to be OK less painful than walking, as the leg doesn't stretch as much, I did however discover that I can't stand or push that hard, as it a) hurts like a female dog and b) stretches the stitches, last thing I want is the wound opening up.
A semi gentle ride's better than being in the car though.0
