Braking power

Hey guys
The gear I've got:
Sram Apex Road levers
Tektro top bar brake levers in addition to the above
Avid BB7 brake calipers (loaded with superstar kevlar pads)
G2S rotors
I've set up the calipers by using the onboard adjusters to move the pads as close to the rotor as possible. After that, turning the barrel adjusters on the top bar brake levers to take up some of the cable slack (didn't install the BB7 barrel adjusters). Brakes feel a bit weak though they may need bedding in more. Any ideas on how I could increase braking power? Don't want to spend big bucks.

Full length compressionless outer casing e.g. Jagwire Ripcord with no sharp bends (function over form) is a must.
Other than that they need some time to bed in.
Properly adjusted they should have enough power and modulation.0 -
bb7 should give plenty of power
are you sure discs and pads are clean? if they're contaminated a spray can of solvent will make a big differencemy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -
Better than caliper, but it's just because I changed out the old stock BB7 pads. I think the old ones got contaminated, used them on brand new rotors which have a layer of grease I learnt after, but they've been properly cleaned. Braking power felt better tonight on the way home, so I'll see how they feel in a week or so0
