Hi , looking at getting my first decent entry level mt bike , looking at the forums and different reviews it seems the decathlon rockrider 8.1 is a safe bet for value against spec , I have been looking in a LBS and the guy was pointing me towards this http://www.paulscycles.co.uk/m1b0s2p468 ... %282013%29
It looks lovely but Can someone tell me if this is much better for the extra money and if so why ?
Thanks in advance

Gary

The cube has air forks, which means slightly lighter, otherwise the same, it also has slightly better drivetrain, although the cranks are the same, on paper the RR has better brakes, but I'd personally take budget Shimano on the Cube.

The Cube is the better bike, but not really £300 better.

    Still less than the cube

Thanks for that , seems £300 could be wisely spent on some other bits and pieces to get me started and go with the RR 8.1
    Any other opinions ?

    Thanks

Last years Cube LTD Pro for less than this years LTD and the 8.3

Very happy with mine (even though I paid more than that for it!)

Seems there is no stock , pity that might have been an option. Liking the cubes but liking the price on the RR . Still not had any bad views on the RR , I still prefer the look of the Cube but struggling to justify the extra £300 or so

Always amusing when people sell 'much loved' or 'beloved' bikes they have owned for 2-3 months and done no more than 100 miles on.

Doesn't help your dilemma, but a pet hate of mine!

Only you can decide if you are happy down the second had route and the lack of warranty etc. If the bike is in good condition there are undoubtedly bargains to be had. That one looks ok on the face of it, price seems a bit toppish given RRP though.

Indeed, sloppy seconds without the benefit of decent experience?
