Right then, I've just replaced my chain and cassette, and when I went out on it the chain started slipping, only a few times when I was pushing hard in a high gear, I've checked the chain length which seems to be ok, I've adjusted the 'B' screw to add a bit more tension but it still slips. The chain is a KMC 9 speed on a Shimano HG50 9 speed. anyone got any ideas what's gone amiss.

Is it slipping at the front?

Er you're wrong about what the b screw does.

  • It slips on the cassette on the smallest sprocket, I think I read on here somewhere about the B screw, I can soon reset it.The chain and cassette combo is the same as I put on it previous. Also I've checked the indexing which also seems to be ok.

B screw is adjusted on the largest cog. Read 'Read this first' below.
