I've avoided posting this but can't visualise enough how it will look so am approaching you guy's for advice.

I'm having a Burls made at the moment and am in two minds on the colour of the Stem / seatpost and headset (and bars FWIW).

Would the frame (raw finish) look best with

1. Silver King headset, Silver Thompson Stem and seatpost with Silver Salsa liplock seatclamp
Or, as above with Black headset and liplock
2. Black Seatpost and stem with silver headset and liplock?

The wheels are silver and the tyres are black, saddle and bar tape to be black.

If I go with option one would Black bars look good or should I try to get Silver?

I do like this look but won't be having the polished cranks and calipers... http://www.cyclingtips.com.au/2012/11/b ... h-firefly/

I currently have a raw finish MC rumble

the post and steering are black, headset and seat clamp are red hope

hubs and exo bb are hope gunmetal... (the pedals are different colours as well 1 red 1 green...)

mix up the colours, personally I hate the sight of for example a blue bike with blue hubs and blue tyres
not to mention the blue saddle and grips......... and bikes can look a little anemic if they are all the same colour

the silver headset does look good

loud seat clamp (any colour but silver)

very loud bar tape ( a bike shop in edinburgh has over 24 different colors of bar tape to mix it up)

My ti bike is silver ultegra 6700, black bars, stem, seatpost, headset. And the wheels are either all black or all silver with black tyres depending on which ones are on there. There's a token nod to colour with a red. Bb accenting a red stripe in the graphics.

I've a silver Thomson stem for sale or a deda silver bar and stem set for sale too if either would float your boat.

Asking other people to design your bike for you may cause you to end up with something that YOU don't like. Do it yourself or ask your wife / girlfriend to help but never, repeat never ask a man for help. Men just think they know something about style and what looks good.

    Good point.

I've asked my wife - she's bored of it already!

Yes, really. Don't take it too hard. It was said somewhat tongue in cheek. Key word "somewhat".
