Which bag?

Hi guys, Looking at buying a new bag to use on the bike for when I commute to work and go for longer rides.
I currently use this http://www.sportsdirect.com/karrimor-wi ... ack-792023 It's been fine up to press but the top pocket which I use to hold my keys, phone, wallet and other small bits has torn quite badly twice, It's just not durable enough. It's very comfy though!
I'm looking for something a bit more 'bike specific' and ideally waterproof without having to fuss about with a rain cover? Something around the 20/25L size which is hydration compatible.
I don't take much to work with me but I want enough room incase I decide to put extra layers in etc.
Any recommendations? Cheers.

No idea about the DHB one.
You don't give a budget, but I can tell you that Osprey rucksacks are excellent. The Escapist would seem to fit the bill.0 -
I was looking at the Escapist. If I don't like this DHB one then I'll go for that .0

I don't like the look of that Karrimor bag. Looks like it puts the cargo quite high up which will raise your centre of gravity making you less stable. Also it might interfere with the back of your helmet.
Look for something that keeps the cargo below your shoulders. The DHB one is probably fine.
Also look at Merlin Cycles they have a sale on for Camelbak bags.0 -
I did say I used the Karrimor one, right? lol. It was fine for the bike and very comfy just not very durable which is why I've gone for the DHB.0

sorry my fault, I didn't read the post properly.0

No worries, It's a good bag just doesn't take the abuse well.0

I went to order one last week but found there was a 2 to 4 week delivery as it's out of stock so didn't bother0 -
Yep, I cancelled my order and I've bought one from CRC.0

In the market for a bag myself but not for commuting. Want one for days out biking so i dont want one too big but enough for essentials, food etc.
Ive Actually ordered the camelbak rouge http://www.merlincycles.com/bike-shop/camelbaks/camelbaks-1/camelbak-summer-range/camelbak-rogue-2013.htmlfrom merlins for £39 but im wondering if i could do with a little more volume.
Like the look of these http://www.wiggle.co.uk/salomon-trail-10-rucksack/ Seem a good quality bag but you dont get the hydration bladder with them.
Ill wait for the rogue to arrive and see what i can get in it.0 -

I've ordered this, The belt pocket sealed the deal lol. Will be handy to keep my phone, camera in there for if I wanna take snaps/use Strava without getting into the bag.
I wasn't too botherd about a bladder included because I already have a 3L Camelbak so can just use the bladder from it.0 -

They only have the 16L in stock though? Plus I'd rather use CRC...0

Look nice bags them salomon. My rouge came today and i decided to keep it. Can get my multi tool, spare inner tube, levers, patches, pump, radio, snack and keys in fine with a bit more room for extra snacks if needed.
The 2 litre bladder seems ample aswell with me being out on the bike for 5 hours today and still having a little water left. Oh and it fits great too.
Would still like to have more room but i just think i would take things that i wouldnt need.0 -
Good stuff! My Camelbak isn't the comfiest on my back, I have a Lobo. Also no where near enough room for my liking. I tend to take a jacket with me most of the time and I have to tie it to the Lobo lol.
As long as the Salomon is all good then I'm gonna sell the Lobo, Keep the bladder though.0 -
i bought a vaude trail light bag which i use for long rides, even has a hydration bladder pocket inside.
I dont mind the rain covers as they are easy to clean than cleaning the actual bag itself.0 -
I ordered the Agile 12 and now Ive seen it in the flesh and tried it on I hate it.0
-
Yeah I'm not a massive fan of the Salomon so far but I only discovered that half way through a ride so I guess it'll have to do for now...0

Sounds like my wife.0 -
Think the Salomon sales talk is misleading. Take the Agile range its marketed towards runners, when its really designed for snail paced walkers who use sticks. If a runner placed items in the side pockets they would fall out. The only side pocket that is zipped is mesh. Not sure how Salomon calculate bag capacity. I have an old 10 litre rucksack that can fit twice as much as the agile 12 litre0
