I need a new lock. I want something pretty strong (gold or silver standard) but as light as possible.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance

strong and light really do not go together, unless you're in a totally benign area assume that there are thieves armed with at least a big pair of cutters, this makes cable locks useless
in places like london assume the thieves are in vans and carrying jacks and big bolt croppers, you need a chunky d-lock correctly used to resist these, but nothing will stop a portable angle grinder with a decent cutting discmy bike - faster than god's and twice as shiny0 -

Was hoping for some miracle metal that had been employed as a bike lock0 -
I like the look of the Knog Strongman, not sure of its rating, but I believe it to be Gold standard.Scott Speedster S20 Roadie for Speed

There is. Check out this lock, light and strong, titanium made. Not cheap but should be pretty darn effective.
