Hi

Looking for some saddle recommendations/suggestions.

I would like to find a saddle with a little more sit bone padding, must have a central cut out and be under £60.

Have tried and not got on with Prologo Nago 141 (sit bones ok, no channel) and spesh Toupe 143 (channel ok, not enough padding). My winter bike has an 2011 Spesh Riva which is comfortable for hours. But cannot bring myself to fit one to my best bike!

Not tried Selle Italia, they have a few options for around £50-£60 which look promising, any opinions on them?

FYI my sit bones are approx 105-110mm (tin foil on stairs method).

Thanks

Cheers, I do feel I should stick with a Specialized even if the Toupe was not for me.

Toupe Plus? It is the Toupe but with level 2 padding, same as the Riva (which I quite like).

I actually use the Avatar Comp which is very good and offers level 3 padding, so it is a little heavy and may be changed next time around...

I have learnt that any new saddle needs breaking in.

I hated the Fizik Arione that came with my SLR after the first ride. It hurt so much I spent the ride out of the saddle after the first 2 hours. I decided to give it another go and after the next ride it was slightly better.

Now it is the most comfy saddle I have ever used.

I hadn't heard/read about levels of padding with specialized saddles.

The Toupe I have is second hand and probably broken in already, although not to the shape of my arse obviously.

I noticed Tredz were doing the Romin expert for £60 delivered so went for that. I will give it plenty of time to break in before I write that off. Got to stop throwing money at that bike!!!!

Why would you not look beyond a certain brand?

switched from a selle Italia thing that came with the bike to a Fizik Antares Braided. its like night and day. the fizik is firmer yet more comfortable! I feel better after a 4 hour ride compared to what i had, but now also realise i need a carbon seatpost!

I tried a Fizik Antares Versus and couldn't get on with it so tried this:

Fits me great after about 100 miles or so - best £30 on a saddle I have spent! Don't worry, nobody can see the 'Test' logo when your derriere is parked on it!

Also have had a Toupe + 143 which I found a little wide for me but decent levels of padding.

Have I read this right? You have a saddle already that is comfortable but you are too proud or stupid to fit one to your summer bike but quite happy for everyone else to recommend something else? Reality check needed methinks.

I'd suggest you stick with the riva, or just stand up all the time.
