You know what to do.
A 9 from me. Even in my hungover state I enjoyed it.

A solid 8 from me. That's my impartial rating. My pro-Garmin Anglo-Irish riders rating puts it at a 10, obviously.
Wonder who scored it 1? Someone who gave up watching with 30km to go perhaps?Warning No formatter is installed for the format0 -

I'm not a fan of his style. It only works at the Tour when he is the 3rd cog or for some boring little chipper where nothing is happening and his whimsical anecdotes actually add something. I'm surprised Sean didnt throttle him in the comms box...0 -

This actually did ruin my overall enjoyment of the race much to the same effect as Phil and Paul make the Tour on ITV unwatchable.
Actual racing was great and got a 9 from me.0 -
Exciting race from when I switched on with just under 40km to go.
- Interesting tactics from Sky sending a man up the road then blocking the bunch
- A will-he-won't-he situation with Gilbert looking strong but obviously not quite there
- Hesjedal was exciting and the prospect of him in that form vs. Wiggo and Nibs in the Giro added to that
- Decent finish with Jrod going long and Dan Martin (who no one can dislike) coming past for the win.
8/10?
commentary wasn't too great though, they see really poor at actually giving you an idea of what's happening - all you get from ES is:
- 'ooo he's looking strong'
- 'I'm picking him and him and him and him and him and him etc. as my favourites for today's win'
- 'he's gone long but he won't win from that distance because its hard'
4/10 for the commentary.0 -
Having criticised CK during Trentino (when he drove me absolutely mad) I must say he was almost bearable today and he did give Sean a chance to comment at length on a race that he won twice. I give him points for doing some research on things beforehand. However, I preferred Robbie Hatch for Tour of Turkey and he did have Tony Gibb assisting.'Google can bring back a hundred thousand answers. A librarian can bring you back the right one.'

Great to see Dan Martin win a monument in great style. He was plainly the strongest in the race. This literally brings back the same emotions I had watching Kelly in the classics in the good old days.
It was good to see Andy Schleck finally making some progress. His hard work is beginning to pay off.
Finally, it was great to see Ryder employing the Pantani-tuck on the descent into the last climb. Hopefully he will try it again at the Giro.
10 out of 10 from me.

Nor indeed a startlingly detailed c0ck shot about 90km to go. A proper "did I just see that?!?" moment.
Can't remember which rider, but was Europcar guy @ head of bunch, looked like he was conversing so camera closed in on him, then it turned out he was negotiating a nature break, and was ...er... 'prepping' before stopping.@shraap | My Men 2016: G, Yogi, Cav, Boonen, Degenkolb, Martin, J-Rod, Kudus, Chaves0 -

Didn't see this live, but even knowing it was going to happen, seeing Martin looming behind J-Rod was awesome: cried out for some immortal commentary......a rare 100% loyal Pro Race poster. A poster boy for the community.0 -
Macaloon's new avi merits a 'Chapeau!'
Possibly even a jersey0 -
Had to watch highlights so missed the early parts. Having said that gave it a good solid 8 plenty of action & on roads like that plenty to watch out for too.Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0

I was disappointed with the "Tempo" climb of La Redoute with only St Nicholas to follow.
Then Hesjedal got his power climbing going on the Colonster to make things interesting and later we realised the tactics involved.
I kept wondering how an emergency ambulance would get to the hospital halfway up Colonster but I think they had a contingency plan for that to come down the normal way of the Dual Carriageway.
After that La Doyenne came into it's own as the race we have come to expect. I gave an 8.
The Ans climb with wackem being caught and passed was very reminiscent of the second race to Ans.
Sorensen caught and passed the favourite Tony Rominger before the top but they had a further 2/3 Km's to go in those days.Organiser, National Championship 50 mile Time Trial 19720
