My second Sunday club run today and it was a lot easier than last weeks. We headed south and east away from all of the big hills. After the turnaround point I was flagging, but the full English breakfast from the cafe started to kick in and I got a second wind.

After we went our own ways I had about 5 miles to go home and decided I still had some life left in my legs. So as I went by the end of my road i saw 86 miles, and decided I only had to head on for 7 then turn back

So that's just what i did :D

100.7 miles @16.7mph

And I am completely f****d now. But ever so pleased with myself.

Nice one Phil. I remember your first post you made and you've done well in a very short time. I've been cycling properly for a year now and still not done a century. Jealous of the progress your making there. Well done again.

Good man, well done :D 2 months to go before my first century. I've got to get up the Burway in Church Stretton before that so trying to get plenty of hill climbing practise in at the moment  looks like you're flying at the mo, keep it up

    Thanks guys :D

@Azhar - While I've only really been road cycling seriously since the middle of the summer last year I have been mountain biking for about a dozen years. So I wasn't a complete novice. But this this time last year I considered my 18 mile local towpath loop a pretty decent length!

@Dowcha - my Year to Date stats off Strava are: 1,272 miles, 53,373ft climb

@elderone - about 75 miles of it was with the Club run though, so faster than I could go on my own for that distance
  • Great effort, I've got my first century in 2 1/2 weeks, if I pull out an average anywhere near that ill be pleased.

Nice one Phil, your stats are very similar to my own, but I haven't quite got the confidence to go for the centuary just yet

I got dropped a couple of times on the hills in the Dales last week, but this weeks ride was more undulating than hilly so I was fine - even did a couple of good turns up front.
