New saddle or shorts

Went out today wearing the gore bibs and riding the standard scott saddle I've used for the last 12 months, after around 10 miles my backside was getting uncomfortable, not painful but not what I've been used to in the past. I had to keep on moving around on the saddle to ease it until I got home, nothing has been changed on the bike, and this is the first time it's happened, so should I consider new shorts or a new saddle, was thinking assos bibs or specialized BG fit saddle.
Any advice would be most welcome, I suppose the cost would be similar whichever way I go.

first you need to check your saddle position - i found even 1 or 2mm change in saddle tilt/height made a significant difference to the comfort. Whats odd is why its started hurting after 12 months of riding - what else has changed?
I didnt get on with the scott saddle - found quite quickly it cut off blood flow after 20 mins and i got numb bum. Now using a spec toupe and its so comfortable even after 3 hours slogging up the hills round here. It took a bit of tweaking with the position and esp tilt before i was happy though.0 -
Been considering the Spec toupe for a while, might just treat myself and see how that goes, I think the scott is fairly low end and basic.0

it's a decent enough saddle but we all have different butts. The cutaways definitely work for me, but i also tried a selle flow and a spec phenom and found them very uncomfortable as the cutaways took a lot of longitudinal rigidity away from the saddle. The toupe has been marvellous for me.0

Thanks for the replies Sprool, I will have a ride down to Chester ( in the car) as that's the nearest Spec dealer to me who do the sit bone measuring, see what they have to offer and advise, just looked at the toupe on line and really looks the business.0

Are the bibs new? They might need a couple of washes to soften up the pad a little so it comforms better to your rear end.0

I had a similar problem except I got saddle sores. I was using gore bib tights too.
I tried altura shirts yesterday with chamois cream and raised the nose of my seat a few mm and 30 miles passed yesterday without hitch.Wilier Cento Uno SR 2013 in Fluro Yellow
