£300.00 ish bike for the wife, these any good?

Hi all, convinced the wife to join me and the nipper on a camping/bike riding break. Generally will be riding light trails but would prefer something light as not to overload my bones 3 bike rack. My daughters bike fits in the boot as I know it's near on impossible to get 3 bikes on the bones. These are what I am considering, needs to be about a 14 inch frame or so.

Both are excellent bikes - the Giant gets hydraulic forks, and a good version of that fork, and in my opinion, the Shimano gears are better than the Sram.
Would be my choice it if fits.0
