Re-built an old GT that i have owned for a while.
made up of mostly spare parts form the shed but i bought a new fork (albeit for next to no money!), some second hand wheels and a headset which allows the use of a tapered steerer fork in a frame which wasnt designed for it.
2005 GT avalanche frame
Magura durin 120mm fork with tapered steerer
superstar compnents adapter headset and stem
raceface bars and post
LX cranks
V12 pedals
X9 rear mech
LX front mech
X7 shifters
Hayes stroker brakes
Mavic crossride wheelset
weighs a bit more than 27lbs which is pretty good for such a cheap build.

Isn't that the frame you were going to rename "Sheepstwat" or something?0

it is yes. i broke it down and sold all of the bits off for the last build but kept the frame.
i wanted something to ride around camp so decided to build it back up as cheaply as possible then accidentally bought some nice kit for it. All of the bits i had to buy came to about 360 quid so i was very happy with that.
now it is done i kinda fancy some nicer bars, and a matching post and stem then some guccier pedals and maybe a lighter cassette but all of this is a wasted effort on a bike i wont ever ride off road!0 -
It's a hardtail though. and it's not got a dropper post. Therefore, you've just broken 2 of your own rules.
What happened to you over there man? You used to be cool!
You're a disappointment to your mother and I.0 -
