Cove Hummer shim

Long story short, i cracked my kona frame & have been sold a Cove Hummer xc frame by a mate. I went to fit the headset & found out that the top half of my headset is too small!!! The friend who bought the frame as a project but didnt build it said there was no shim in it when he bought off someone else. I phoned the distributor(through my LBS) & they said there was a shim in the top part of the steerer tube but that they can't get it!!!

I managed to bodge one but was wondering if anyone has one from an old hummer or knows where to get one?

A local firm want to charge me £30 for what is basically a thin spacer!!!
