I have a Bryton 40 and have installed Brytonbridge, however all it does is get the data from the unit. Is there anyway to see the data on the Bryton main portal bit, where it analyses the ride and can this be done offline or does it have to be online?

You need to upload the data somehow, either by using your computing device as a bounce point or by directly uploading from the connected Bryton device. I am not aware of being able to use the website analysis tool offline.

To be honest, Strava just tramps all over the Bryton site so I just use the Bryton device manager to copy files from the device to my laptop (in tcx format) and then upload to Strava.

How do I do the latter bit i.e. load them in tcx format? Is it a 'save as?' thing?

    thanks

Yepp, if you want to bounce via your computer, connect your device to the laptop and, if the BrytonBridge s/w does not fire up then use "Open Device Manager" by right clicking on the right icon on your tool bar (bottom right hand corner). Then, select "Manage Tracks", Select the right files and then "Save as". It only takes seconds to save.

Then, open up the Strava website (or Bryton), login and choose "Upload files". The Bryton site will give you the option of Device or PC whereas Strava doesn't (so the upload has to be a 2 stage process for Bryton equipment, as far as I know, I haven't allowed the "access Garmin device" yet which may work for Brytons).

Either way works and you can export from Bryton to Strava fairly easily. Lots of options, to be honest.
