Play in hub

I have looked through tech FAQs and had a look through a few threads so I apologise if this has been brought up before (even though it almost definitly has).
Sun ringle hub 20mm through axle. There is a small amount of play, not 100% on whether its vertical or horizontal, or both. My plan is to release the wheel and have a look at the cones. My understanding is that I should be able to "tighten" the cones with the right spanners? Once i have tightened I will put the hub back on the axle and see if there is still play.
Has anyone got any corrections or input to my POA?
Cheers

unlikely to be cones.
press fit bearings i would think.
use it as is or replace the bearings."Do not follow where the path may lead, Go instead where there is no path, and Leave a Trail."

As the bike is second hand I'm not sure of the hub model. I think its a Sun Ringle Abbah 20mm in which case I would be needing this, but I cant be sure the hub is what I think it is.

remove the dust cap / 20mm mount from side of hub
bearing should have a number on it like 6802
the abbah uses a 6805 according to that link0 -
