I take it you didnt pay by credit card then?0
-
Wish I seen this on Tuesday as I ordered a Northwave Force long sleeve jersey from Life Cycles. Fortunately, I did pay by credit card. Damn, I wanted that top and Wiggle were out of stock.0
-
Yeah, unfortunately I paid with a debit card. Good luck jamiekavanagh - hope you have a better time with them than I have!0

Thanks for that!
I just checked and I actually paid with PayPal. I'll give Life Cycles a week, then chase. Otherwise, I have the unenviable task of attempting to use a notoriously picky and unwieldy PayPal Buyer Protection...0 -
You should post the emails on their FB page and Tweet them asking for a refund.0

Good shout, I've posted to their facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/LifeCyclesBikes0

Just rememeber there's a 3 month limit (or was) for papal buyer protection. I got stung by a motorcycle shop pulling the same scam a few years back. Constant phone calls and emails, constant bulls*it promises in return (apart from the emails, which apart from one, they ignored).
In the end I was outside the paypal buyer protection limit (didnt realise there was one at the time) and so I lost a fair few quid. Should've rode down there and put a brick through their window...0 -

Good on you - it does look like they take a few days to respond to people posting questions on their FB page too but hopefully they will see it & get things sorted for you.Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0 -

Thanks for the info, I didn't know that either. I'll give it until Monday for them to fulfill the order, because they might still deliver on their promise. They can't be all bad otherwise they wouldn't be in business. If I don't get progress I'll request a refund under the Distance Selling Regulations which has to be within 7 working days. Then and only then will I tangle with PayPal.
Hopefully, the experience tango_down had will be a one-off or the exception rather than the rule and none of this will be necessary...0 -
So, I've had another email exchange this morning. The bloke's assuring me that the refund has been made, though I've yet to see any money arrive at my account (not sure how long it would normally take to turn up). As 'proof' he's sent me a blurry photo of a refund receipt with some of my card details blotted out with pen. Despite repeated requests he won't give me a phone number so that I can just speak to him.
However, he's claiming that he won't call me because he has family issues going on, so I'm going to stop hassling him for today. Doesn't explain why the company have been so useless over the past few weeks (and there are similarly negative reviews online going back years), but in the interests of not being a dick I'll give it a wee bit more time...0 -

Can take a while for it to appear but no harm in calling your bank and asking if it has appeared to them or how long it should take.Pain hurts much less if its topped off with beating your mates to top of a climb.0 -

If the money doesn't materialise then get in touch with your bank.0 -
yep... if you used a visa debit card you have similar rights to that of a credit card and can arrange for a chargeback to made...contact your bank0

This post should not be confused with Lifecycle in Bildeston Suffolk. Two shops similar names but that were the similarity ends I think. I hope you get the issue sorted. Business's that opperate that way will go out of business in the end if they keep it up. That's not a consolation I know.http://www.thecycleclinic.co.uk -wheel building and other stuff.0

tango_down wrote:Hi guys, just thought I'd share my experience with life-cycles.co.uk as a warning to stay well away from this phenomenally shoddy outfit. I bought a pair of shoes from them weeks ago which have not shown up, and despite numerous email promises they won't give me a refund. Not sure whether it's a scam or just abject incompetence, but online reviews on other sites suggest that other customers have had a similar experience.
I'm now deciding whether to take legal action, which will undoubtedly cost a fair bit more than the shoes did but will at least be satisfying...

Hi there,
I emailed earlier this week about an order which hasn't yet turned up, but
haven't had a reply.
I bought a pair of Shimano M088s over the phone a few weeks ago and the
money left my account on the 14th of March. Since then I haven't heard or
received anything. Would you mind getting in touch via email or on
XXXXXXX?
Thanks,
Jamie

Hi again,
Any update on the shoes? I'm a bit fed up waiting: I paid for them a month ago and should have had them in plenty of time for the bike fitting I have booked for next Tuesday. If they aren't going to arrive before the end of the week I'd like a refund please.
Jamie

refund for you.

How has this not been sorted out yet? If I don't have a refund by tomorrow I'm going to have to take it further.

I've been waiting for a pair of shoes which never turned up for almost two months and have been promised a refund which has not materialised. This is beyond a joke, and I'm thoroughly pissed off with your awful customer service.
If I don't have a refund by the end of today I will be contacting a solicitor.
