How to load a fit file to Edge 500

Does anybody know how to upload a fit file to an edge 500.
I have been sent a fit file and cant find anywhere how i load to the edge 500.
Building:
S-Works Venge, Ultegra DI2, Carbon Clinchers
Race:
Moda Stretto, Force Groupset, American Classic Carbon 58`s

Winter:
Whyte Suffolk, Hydro Disks

Retro:
Tommasini Super Prestige Full Campagnolo C/W Delta`s

    Put it in the courses directory on your garmin? if its the same as the 800.

    Put it in the "newfiles" folder on the Garmin, then it will appear when you select the Courses feature.

    I thought that was for GPX/TCX files only?

    Just tried it, works for FIT files on the 800. :)

    I think it's the same for FIT files, though I haven't tried it. It would include all the track data, so it should be the same as loading a TCX/GPX?

    Thanks for the replies, Sorted it out. Saved the file to my desktop. Pluged in the garmin via USB lead and the just dropped it in to the Garmin.
