So unfortunately for me, it was brought to my attention last night that my Fox Float Evo 32 fork is f**ked. It still bounces and performs as a shock should, but the inside of at least one of the legs has a pit and is dis-coloured.
I've been told the stanchions need replaced but I can't find a price for this online - been told verbally its about £180. Can you hook me up with a link so I know what's wrong/what is being replaced for £180 as I am trying to weigh up the purchase of a replacement fork.

Tis expensive this Mountain biking :(

You need a CSU - Crown Assembly Unit.

The exact one depends on the fork year, steerer type and travel. But if the forks feel ok, just ride them until they die.

Price sounds about right. It's the upper assembly - stanchions, crown and steerer.
Look in the tech FAQ's for how to sort out minor pitting.

Thanks, I had a look at the FAQ and I dont think mine are as bad as his images - although maybe thats a worse sign?
Here's a few pictures of mine as they stand now. When I rub my finger down them I feel the change in paint(?) but they aren't dented as I initially thought. Just want to make sure I'm not potentially paying £180 for some gold paint ?

Ah, you said the inside of the tubes - this is external stanchion wear! It can if you leave it wear the bushings out in the lowers, which would then need replacing. But is hard to tell when this will happen.

Perosnally I would sell it (people still pay good money for forks like this!) and put the money towards a better fork.

What model Evo was it? RL?

    It's a Fox Evolution 32 Float RL, 100mm.
Edit: It's off a 2012 bike so I would assume the forks are 2012 also.

So are we saying I just need to replace/change bushings and the rubber seals, rather than the whole stanchion?

Am saying that the worn stanchions will eventually wear the bushes - so no point just changing them at this moment in time. Ideally you'd want to replace everything in one go, which is the price of a new fork.

or just keep on riding until the performance notably drops off, then do it.

Personally I would sell it, and buy new. To be truthful it is not a very good fork, an RS Reba or SID would perform better and last longer.

OK thanks. If I sell it, then someone else is going to have to pay to "fix" it. Would someone actually do that?

Yep! Fox command good money because of the name. If all the internals are working ok, and no play at this moment in time, advertise them as that but of course mentioning the stanchion wear. As nobody knows when the thing will wear out totally, it is buyer beware really! I would expect you'd get £100 ish.
