Servicing

Hi I have a specialised crosstail which I've nearly done 3000 miles on, I'm wondering how long bottom brackets normally last? My rear hub needs changed which I'll leave to the LBS and I'll change the headset myself but I'm not sure about the bottom bracket, it's working fine etc what would do I buy when replacing? Can they be serviced?
Specs:BOTTOM BRACKET Square taper, cartridge bearing, double crank stop
Thanks in advance

Square taper bottom brackets are non servicable - but they can last for several thousand miles! if there is no play in it, and it turns smoothly, leave it be.
When the time comes, you need to measure the frame shell width and axle length of the bottom bracket. Also usually written on the body.0 -
Ok thanks for the swift response!0

Hi,
Did you ever replace your bottom bracket, if so what with?
Thanks0 -
Hi my bottom bracket is still going strong,it's sealed so no need to service it. I did end up upgrading the wheels so I can change the Shimano hub when it wears out.0
