Just bought my son a connondale hybrid, the wheel size says 622x17 what isn the minimum tyre i can get away with.

    the 'sensible' answer is 25mm, but I expect people ignore this and run 23's. Also allow for the fact that a lot of tyres are not accurate to the stated size ie ultremo zx say 23mm but are 24mm.

    forgot to say to times the rim width by 1.5 is the usual way to work out minimum tyre width :D
    my isetta is a 300cc bike
