Axle seized?
Trying to replace the freehub in my Planet X Model Bs and I've taken off the caps either side and there's nothing left to remove, however the axle still wont come out- is it corroded into the bearings? (cartridge)
How can I remove it? Not too worried about destroying the bearings as I've got replacements on the way.

Maybe a circlip hiding in the grime.I've added a signature to prove it is still possible.0

you need to press it out to get the bearings out.

What would a circlip look like?0

Fit a 10 (I think it's 10) mm hex key in the slot and hammer on the key... the left bearing will pop out with the axle. If the bearing is then seized on the axle, you need a bearing extractor or more hammeringleft the forum March 20230

If you're only replacing the freehub, you don't have to remove the axle. The freehub body should slide off the axle once the end cap is removed.- - - - - - - - - -
