10mm axle question

I'm looking at a good deal on some Havens at the moment in 29" - but the axle rear is stated as 10mm rather than QR. So...I am a bit confused.
Does that give me the option to use one of these if my frames drop outs are standard QR?

Or is it designed with bolt through in mind? Thanks, and forgive the ignorance! :oops:

Yes the 10mm through axle you have linked to there is what you would need for hose havens, and it fits a standard QR dropout. I only know this because I contacted superstar and asked them the same question myself. It's just a supposedly lighter, and stiffer alternative to a QR.0

He has not linked a 10mm axle, he has linked a 10mm QR skewer. It needs a 10mm hub to work with it.0

Yea that's right. I assume it's a 10mm hub that he is talking about, in which case the Superstar one would fit his hub and his standard QR dropouts.0

It's not a through axle though0

the wheel spec is as such....so the question is do I need a 10mm QR?

They're definitely not lighter..they are about 4x the weight of a normal QR skewer!bennett_346 wrote:He has not linked a 10mm axle, he has linked a 10mm QR skewer. It needs a 10mm hub to work with it.
He has linked to a 10mm (QR) through-axle not a QR skewer!
Depends on the adapter on the hubs but I would think you just need a standard rear wheel QR skewer...like this;

Makes no difference. A 10mm though axel or a 10mm Qr. if the hub is spaced as a through hub.
