Hi guys,

Hoping you can help me point a non-cycling colleague in the right direction for a trainer.

His doctor has recommended cycling as exercise and he will be getting a bike for weekend use when the weather is cooperative. However he wants a trainer for at night/bad weather as he won't go out in these conditions and is on a tight budget.

I am guessing that an Ebay New Years resolution reject would be the best bet but does anyone have any ideas on makes/models?

Please don't tell me how poor these trainers will be, I know. I am only trying help those that won't listen/spend money.

PS:- He can't be bothered with joining a gym so we can all see how this is going to play out........but any help will be appreciated.

I got a basic one of ebay for about £50 and works fine and does what I needed it to do.You can get 2nd hand ones aswel so good place to look.
As far as your friend goes,if he cant be arsed to help himself then maybe you shouldn,t put to much effort into this.

That's why I was offloading it on you lot.
Ebay was my immediate answer and is likely to stay that way.
Unless someone can be bothered typing to inform me otherwise.
