B'twin MTB shoes for hybrid pedals?

I have flat pedals with SPD clips on the other side. I was wondering if it was feasable that these shoes could be used on the flats due to the recessed cleats, and then clipped in mid-ride when wanting to climb hills etc? Thus giving me the utter freedom of choosing between flat/clipless at any point I desire during a ride, with the added bonus of being able to walk about properly. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Are the cleats fully recessed for example, or do they stick out a bit? Could the recess hole cause problems on the flat side of the pedal?

They are very similar to my shoes and i use mine on both spd on my roadbike and also on the flats on my MTB. They stick up a little bit but not really enough to cause a problem when riding on flats, and you can walk in them as well. Decathlon stuff is pretty good as well although for a bit more you could have shimano MT33 which are on offer at £45 at the minute.

Thanks for the reply. I actually prefer the look of the B'Twins over the Shimano's!!
