Canyon delivery dates

Just having a rant.

Ordered the Ultimate CF SLX last week on the basis of a CW19 (or thereabouts) delivery date.

Just been told the bike won't be delivered until CW24 earliest, with the top cap (i.e. that stupid stem cap thing) to be separately delivered in CW36!

Anyone else had experience of Canyon orders being put back? I'm royally peeved, as I have a handful of events in late May that I'm not likely to be able to use the new bike for... may even re-consider and cancel actually.

To make matters worse, it still says "CW19" in the expected delivery thingy on the Canyon website! Surely they should update this if it's more than a week or two out.

As far as I'm aware, most on here have been held up on delivery dates, I know I have. They tell me another wait of 7-10 days after week 16 but, thats also after telling me I have gone from week 18 down to weeks 16 which I thought was handy, and then you read above and it more or less brings it back round to week 18 anyway which is crazy. I just cant get my head round how this firm operates. I will wait the extra 7-10 days, then if nothing materializes then, I will kick up a stink.

Canyon also doing my head in at the moment. Week 12 moved to week 21. (Had a letter confirming week 21). Now being told week 24. Expecting further delay in due course . Starts to make you wonder if you would just be better cancelling altogether.

I wanted to place an order but my size was shown as "Sold out", I contacted Canyon and was told there would be no more stock. New models would be announced in Mid October this year after which they will be taking orders again but would give no commitment on supplying a bike this year.........I'm now looking at buying something else. Either they are so swamped with orders that they can't cope or German efficiency isn't as efficient as it should be.

ordered one of there mtb's back in april and was told it would be sent week 24. 9 week wait but ok i can deal with that.
i email'd them last week just to make sure every things ok receive an email saying yes every things all set to be sent next week but the day cant be confirmed.
now its friday of week 24 so i emailed them again asking if it has been sent or will be today, only to receive the exact same email that yes every things all set to be sent out next week but the day cant be confirmed?
they replied to those emailes in 10 minutes.
when i emailed them again asking how accurate this was as i was told it would be sent this week i didnt get a reply at all.

at first i thought it was actual advice but with the second exact copy email and the blatent ignorance of my last email im just thinking its automated emails just to keep you happy
how long will this go on for

In the past I've had 3 Canyons, never a problem with any of them. May be just bad luck?

Call them. I had much better service when I spoke to someone in the UK office.

I wouldn't put up with it. Cancel. They're nice bikes and good value, but it's not like there isn't a good choice of alternatives out there - and in stock to boot.....!

Mate - get on the phone to them and give them merry hell. Tell them exactly how you feel and that you want something more definite. Keep on phoning them once or twice a week, they'll soon get the message. It's been said before and it does seem that if you give them a bit of wellie, suddenly things start to happen. It seemed to do the trick for me and others.

Oh and ask for compensation.

I tried to buy a Canyon back in April but the Model and size that I wanted was out of stock. I was told that I could order one after the 2014 launch in November with a view to it being delivered early in 2014. Nice bikes but a 9 month wait?

I now have a Trek Damone 4.5 that I am delighted with.
